The development stages:Exploration drilling/2012-09.Operated by Tullow Oil, the offshore block 47 covers an area of 2,369 square kilometers and is located front of Suriname's coast, at a water depths of between 1,300 and 3,000m. It has gross resources of 261 million barrels of oil equivalent. In 2012, a 2,000 square kilometers 3D seismic programme was completed, which was performed to identify possible drill targets. Initial interpretation cofirmed the presence of major deepwater turbidite systems. The company will drill exploratory wells during the first quarter of 2015 in the Kaimen/Sarki/Spari prospect.
