The development stages:Under Construction/2014-12.The investment is US$496mn.The project is part of Pemex's plan to maximize the production capacity, quality and competitiveness of its refineries, including the Madero facility. The initiative is aimed at strengthening maintenance and employee security protocols, while simultaneously mitigating environmental impacts. The objectives of the proposal include the rehabilitation and refurbishment of gas turbines, tanks, boilers, cooling towers, pipework, sewers, electrical circuits and heaters. The project is also intended to overhaul the equipment and material procurement process, to commission studies on infrastructural integrity and to improve the plant's distillation, treatment and conversion processes.
