The development stages:Discovery/2012-11,In production - under development/2014-08.The field is located in Pemex's onshore Samaria-Luna asset, which is part of the company's South region. Navegante-1 was completed in April 2012, reaching a total depth of 6,800m, successfully proving a reservoir holding 45º API crude. Exploration efforts have required unconventional well design given the geological complexity of the prospect. The field's development has faced some complications. Due to the depth of the prospective reservoir, pressure levels have had to be controlled to ensure the safety of the wells' perimeter and nearby communities. In February 2015, an explosion was reported at Terra-123, a nearby well that has similar characteristics to Navegante.
