The development stages:Exploration drilling/2014-01.The Fénix block covers an area of 24,117ha and is located in the Middle Magdalena basin. Amerisur Resources, its operator, is carrying out an exploration program in the area. In February 2014, exploration well Ave-1 was drilled in the Fénix block, encountering oil sands. After testing, 32.7° API oil and associated gas were detected. This is the third exploration well that the company has drilled in Fénix, all of which have encountered hydrocarbons. However, all have had low initial production rates.
