The development stages:Environmental evaluation/2016-03.The investment is US$100mn.The project is a petroleum refinery to be built on land in the plant belonging to Carburantes Centroamericanos S.A. (Carcasa) in Port San José, a city on Guatemala's Pacific Ocean coast. The oil facility will cover 40ha out of a 150,000ha property. Some 40-50% of the refinery's output would be diesel, with the remainder comprising gasoline, solvents and other refined products. The project is being developed by Maple Terminals LLC.
