The development stages:Under Construction/2014-05,In operation/2018-01.The investment is US$1bn.The project involves the construction of a 530km, 30-inch natural gas pipeline to supply the 230MW Topolobampo thermoelectric plant. El Encino-Topolobampo also will supply thermo plants Topolobampo II and III once they are built. Transportadora de Gas Natural del Noroeste, the local unit of Transcanada Pipelines, was awarded a 25-year contract to build, own and operate the pipeline. The line is a section of Mexico's north-northwest pipeline system.
