The development stages:Exploration drilling/2012-12.Operated by Amerisur Resources, the PUT 12 block covers an area of 55,000ha and is adjacent to the Platanillo field in Colombia's Putumayo basin. It was awarded in 2012 to a joint venture between Amerisur (60%) and Pluspetrol (40%). Using existing 2D seismic, nine material leads were identified totaling P50 resources of 305Mb. Amerisur intends to acquire up to 272km of new 2D seismic by 4Q15. Under the revised 2015 exploration campaign, the PUT 12 drilling program will begin in December 2015 with the drilling of Lead 1, targeting a mean prospective resource of 106.6Mb that is similar in seismic terms to the Platanillo structure. In the event of success, the companies aim to tie the production from this discovery back to the Platanillo system. According to Amerisur, the block exhibits similar geology to its prolific Platanillo block.
