The development stages:Awaiting construction decision/2014-01,Under Construction/2016-01,In operation/2019-01.The investment is US$359mn.The project involves the construction of new plants and the modification of existing facilities at state oil firm Pemex's Salamanca refinery. Work at the site will be carried out by Samsung Ingeniería DUBA SA de CV. The initiative is part of the second stage of Pemex's clean fuels project to produce ultra low sulfur diesel at five of its six refineries. It will enable Pemex to produce high-quality diesel with sulfur levels reduced from the current 500ppm to 15ppm, slashing sulfur dioxide emissions by 12,000t annually.
