The development stages:Licensing/2016-12.The project Área-2 involves the exploration for, and extraction of, hydrocarbons in deep water in the Gulf of Mexico, in one of the four exploration blocks of the Perdido belt. Block Área-2 covers an area of 2,977 square kilometers and 3D seismic has been shot over 80% of the area. The main reserves discovered are of super light oil. It is estimated that the four blocks of the Perdido belt together contain about 3.56Bboe.
