The development stages:Under Construction/2013-10,In operation/2017-01.The investment is US$527mn.The 217km Pascuales-Cuenca multipurpose pipeline will run from port city Guayaquil to Cuenca, capital of Azuay province, and eliminate the need to truck fuel. The Cuenca fuel storage terminal will have capacity of 300,000b and supply the provinces of Cañar, Loja, Zamora Chinchipe and Morona Santiago. Between Guayaquil and Cuenca, the La Troncal storage facility will have capacity of 260,000b and supply El Oro province. The pipeline is composed of two sections, one from Pascuales to La Troncal (112km) and the other from La Troncal to Cuenca (105km). Components include six pumping stations and two receiving, storage and distribution terminals in La Troncal and Cuenca. Completion is due June 2016.
