The development stages:Exploration drilling/2012-10.The Nogal block covers 239,414ha in the Caguán Putumayo basin and was awarded to Chinese firm Sinochem's subsidiary Emerald Energy by Colombia's hydrocarbons regulator ANH in 2012. In mid-2013, Ecopetrol signed a a deal with Emerald Energy and agreed to operate the Cardón block, while Emerald will operate the Manzano and Nogal blocks. In the three projects included in the deal, the companies agreed to hold a 50-50 working interest in each block. The Nogal block will see 240km of 2D seismic collected in an exploratory program which is still underway.
