The development stages:Exploration drilling/2009-04.Operated by Petrominerales, the 491,748ha block 161 is located in the Uyacali basin in the Selva Norte area. In 2009, Pan Andean (now Petrominales) and Perupetro signed a licence contract that includes a seven-year exploration phase for oil, as 30-year period for production, and a 40-year term for natural gas and condensate production. The company presented an EIS to carry out a 355km 2D seismic shoot, which should be completed by late 2013. The six-month project is intended to define the subsurface structures and determine possible sites for exploration wells. In June 2015 Peruvian authorities approved Petrominerales' request for withdrawal of the EIS.
