The Laguna El Loro block covers an area of 124,788 acres (505 square kilometers) and is owned by E&P company Andes Energía with a 98% stake. Local company Kilwer holds the remaining 2% and operates the block. Eight exploration wells have been drilled and significant oil potential has been confirmed in the area.
