The development stages:Feed/2013-04.The investment is US$720mn.The project calls for the development of a substitute natural gas (SNG) production facility, which would use coal gasification, in southern Chile's region XII. The project is being developed by Chilean utility Pecket Energy. Foster Wheeler will perform feasibility, conceptual and basic engineering studies. The facility will have an estimated production capacity of 2.5Mm3/d of gas and produce syngas which will be distributed to the existing grid in the region for domestic consumption or for industrial purposes. An estimated 2Mt/y of coal will be needed to power the plant.
