Fuerte Sur is a 330,000ha offshore block held by Colombia's state oil company Ecopetrol and operated by the Colombian subsidiary of US oil company Anadarko Petroleum. As per terms of an agreement between the companies, Anadarko Colombia assumed operatorship and a 50% share in the block, while Ecopetrol holds a 50% share. By the end of 1Q15, drilling of one deepwater exploratory well in the Kronos prospect had begun as part of the companies' 2015 exploration program. The Kronos-1 well is anticipated to reach total depth by end 2Q15.
