Block 20 is located immediately north of and adjacent to Block 21 and 12 km (7.5 miles) from the Cobalt-operated Cameia-1 well location. Block 20 is Cobalt’s third operated block in the Angolan Pre-salt Kwanza Basin, along with Blocks 21 and 9. Angola expects to run at 1.8 to 1.9 million b/d in 2013 and is targeting 2 million b/d in 2014 with the additional contribution of the Kizomba first phase and its satellites. In water depth ranging between 1,300 and 1,400 metres, Cobalt is currently drilling the Lontra-1 exploratory well in the north of the Block 20 with the Petroserv SSV Catarina semisubmersible platform.
