The development stages:Licensing/2013-08.The Morichito block, located in Colombia's Llanos Orientales basin, covers an area of 231 square kilometers. It is surrounded by four important fields: Rubiales, Apiay, Caracara and Guarrojo. In 2005, Petropopuli, Petrovista Energy's (PVE) subsidiary, and Eagle Transport Ltda signed a 50/50 E&P contract with ANH. By 2008, Petrovista had acquired a 100% working interest in the block. Then, in January 2012, PVE sold its interest to DCX S.A.S, a Colombian simplified shares corporation that is a subsidiary of Deep Core Inc. and owned by Heavy Earth Resources (HEVI). By September 2013, HEVI had sold Deep Core Inc. to Black Energy Oil & Gas Corp. and handed over operatorship to the company. As a part of the transaction, HEVI retained a 15% participation interest in the Morichito block. The Morichito block is surrounded by productive blocks to the north, east, south and west: Rubiales, Apiay, Caracara, Guarrojo, Cachicamo, and Cravoviejo. based on seismic data and the data from DCX's discovery well, Morichito-5, the company deemed the exploration plays on the Morichito block to be in the same order of magnitude as those in the adjacent blocks. In March 2012, the Morichito-5 discovery well was declared to be ¿commercially viable¿ and HEVI announced plans to start production in 2013. The block currently produces around 190b/d according to ANH.
