The development stages:Exploration drilling/2012-11.Manzano block covers 70,483ha in the Caguán Putumayo basin and in 2012 was awarded by Colombia's hydrocarbons regulator ANH to Emerald Energy, a unit of Chinese firm Sinochem. In 2013, Ecopetrol signed a deal with Emerald Energy and agreed to operate Cardón block, with Emerald operating the Manzano and Nogal blocks. In the three projects covered by the deal, the companies agreed to hold a 50-50 working interest in each block. Phase 1 of the block's exploration phase is still underway and stipulates the acquisition of 70km of 2D seismic.
