The development stages:Exploration drilling/2004-12,In operation/2013-10.Operated by Petrobras (which holds a 60% stake), the Seal 11 block is located at deepwater in the SEAL-M-426 block at the Sergie-Alagoas basin. It is estimated that the block could contains more than 3Bboe of light oil and natural gas, making it one of Brazil's largest discoveries. It has been explored since 2011. Works started with the drilling of well 1-BRSA-851-SES, where hydrocarbons were detected. Petrobras confirmed the presence of high quality oil at the Farfan 1 well in 2013. An appraisal of the area, which is so far understood to include eight discoveries, is set to be complete in 2015.
