The Pitepec block has an acreage covering 230 square kilometers and one operating well. The area contains 3P reserves of 1,050Mboe and is comprised of the Ahuatepec, Aragón, Coyotes, Pastoría, Sitio and Tlacolula fields. Pitepec was one of six blocks being offered by Mexican national oil company Pemex to boost production at Chicontepec. Of the six - Pitepec, Soledad, Amatitlán, Miquetla, Humapa and Miahuapan - only Pitepec was excluded. According to the latest production data provided by Pemex, the fields' combined output reaches 1,300b/d.
