The El Dorado oilfield, located in Cordillera province in Bolivia's Santa Cruz department, was discovered in 1999-2000 by Pan American. DRD X-1001, a gas and condensate discovery well in the Iquiri formation, was drilled at a depth of 6,750m, the deepest well drilled in Bolivia at the time. Production test results from the DRD X-1002 drill hole were positive. Well DRD-1004 was spudded in 2004, with negative results. In 2010, Chaco successfully drilled well DRD-1004. A total of seven wells have been spudded in the area, including three production wells in the Guanacos sandstone reservoir (DRD X-1001, DRD X-1002 and DRD-1005). The productive reservoirs have an average depth of 4,220m. Average output at the field stands at 210b/d of oil, 28b/d of gasoline and 8.7Mf3/d of gas. Production is processed at Percheles gas processing plant.
