The development stages:In operation/2013-11.The investment is US$1.6bn.The OBC pipeline project is aimed at easing transport bottlenecks experienced by oil producers operating in the prolific Llanos basin in Colombia. The 960km pipeline will extend from Casanare to Coveñas, will have a 450.000b/d capacity and its construction will be carried out in four separate stages (phases 0 to 3). Phase 1 entails a 229.3km pipeline that will transport crude from Araguaney to Banadía stations, which have storage capacities of 800,000b and y 150,000b respectively. The 42 inches pipeline has a transport capacity of 110,000b/d of heavy oil of 24 degrees API and 21sCT at 30°, and connects with the Caño Limón Coveñas (CLC) system. This phase also entailed construction of two storage tanks at the Coveñas Maritime Terminal, which has a storage capacity of 600,000b. The project required a US$1bn investment and came online in November 2013.
