The development stages:Environmental evaluation/2015-12.The investment is US$40mn.The project involves increasing regasification capacity at the Mejillones LNG import terminal to 10Mm3/d from 5.5Mm3/d. Works will include the construction and operation of a fourth regasification line with a capacity of 3Mm3/d. The initiative also targets the revamp of the three existing trains. In order to ensure sufficient electricity supply, the project also entails a 7.5MW backup power generation unit. The joint venture GNL Mejillones (GNLM) operates the terminal and is composed of Chile's state copper miner Codelco (37%) and Engie (63%).
