The oilfield Junin, operated by PDVSA and Sinopec, covers an area of 55 square kilometers in the Orinoco belt. The field has been developed since 2007 without great results. In 2013, PDVSA and Sinopec reached an agreement to develop the field, which involves an investment of US$14 billion to reach a production of 200,000bpd.
