The development stages:Under Construction/2011-09,In production - under development/2016-02.Developed by YPFB, the Guillermo Elder Bell refinery is operational since 1979 and is one of the two refineries in the country. The company upgraded a crude processing unit at the refinery, doubling the unit's capacity to 6,000b/d from 3,000b/d. The crude unit required approximately US$20mn of investment and is expected to lower Bolivia's monthly diesel imports by 5Ml. In the period 2013-2014, the production capacity of the refinery should increase from 21,950b/d (at the end of december 2012), to 24,950b/d by 2015.
