Operated by EOG Resources, the offshore block 4(a) is part of EOG's operative properties in Trinidad and Tobago. The block was acquired in 2005 through a production-sharing license with the government of Trinidad and Tobago. Is has been operational since 2007 and, together with blocks U(a) and U(B), produces between 365Mf3/d and 385Mf3/d. In 2012, it started a natural gas supply contract with the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago. The company has scheduled a Trinidad and Tobago development drill program for the second half of 2014, including the drilling of three wells. As of January 2016, EOG lists the block as in operation and producing, through the on-site Toucan platform.
