The Yopales oil field, discovered in 1937, contains blocks Yopales Sur, Central and Norte. The field is owned by a JV between Uruguay's state oil company Ancap (40%) and Venezuela's PDVSA (60%), which was established to produce oil from fields Oveja and Yopales. Combined production from both licenses currently hovers around 3,000b/d, although the partnership expects to increase production.
