Consultants: In November 2006, Huntsman and Zamil appointed Jacobs Engineering as the project management consultant for the new plant. Jacobs won the second contract to carry out front-end engineering and design (FEED) for the project in March 2007.
Contractor: In December 2007, Hyundai Engineering & Construction Company(HEDC) was chosen as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. HEDC executed the project in partnership with South Korean builder Hanwha Engineering & Construction. Ground breaking for the project took place in May 2008. AAC invited bids for the main construction contract of the plant in June 2007. Four companies bid for the contract, including Taiwan-based CTCI, South Korea's Hyundai Engineering & Construction Company (HEDC), and a JV of Aker Kvaerner and Sinopec.Mechanical completion of the new plant was achieved in November 2009. The plant has been designed in such a way that another world-scale train can be included in the next few years. Addition of the second train will depend upon market conditions and will double the plant's ethyleneamines capacity.
Jacobs conducted the FEED study for the outside battery limits of the plant. US-based Burns & McDonnell Engineering was the FEED contractor for the inside battery limits.

Fund: Saudi Hollandi Bank provided funds amounting to $195m for the plant. The bank was the lead arranger and underwriter for the project. The transaction was carried out using the conventional Murabaha and Ijara techniques of Islamic financing. The Murabaha technique is a deal in which a commodity is sold at a higher price for profit and the Ijara technique is a lease-based structure.
Feedstock: Main feedstock is EDC 55,000 MTPA , Caustic Soda 43,000 DMTPA and Ammonia13.300 MTPA.
Souce: N2 is sourced from GAS, Sales gas (NG) is supplied from ARAMCO and Power is supplied by SEC 34.5 KV network. Sea water for Closed Cooling water and potable water are coming from RC,Marafiq and SAHARA respectively.
Background: Distributed to a different 8grades of produce, equipped with utilities unit. The EDC technology used for the plant is well proven and provided by Huntsman. The shipping mode is through ISO containers and Drums using DAMMAM Commercial Port. Plant commissioned on 17th May 2010 and quality Ethylene Di Amine has been obtained on 22nd MAY 2010.
