Project Profile
Total project cost: US$850 million
The wider gas network development is made up of 6 projects;
1. Buenaventura Regasification Plant
Location: Puerto Solo, Buenaventura Bay, Colombia
Capacity: 400,000 cubic metres per day
Value: US$400 million
Storage: 170,000 cubic metres
Start-up: 2021
Current stage: Early design & engineering
Start: 06/2017
Completion: 09/2017
2. Buenaventura-Yumbo Pipeline
Length: 102 km
Diameter: 30 inches
Capacity 450,000 cubic metres per day
Start-up: 2021
A 120-km, 12-inch oil products pipeline was constructed between Buenaventura and Yumbo in 1996.
3. Bi-directional Pipeline Yumbo-Mariquita
The project will include the construction of four new compression stations at El Cerrito, Tulua, Zarzal and Manizales.
Power capacity at the Padua compression station will also be increased to 40,000 HP.
4. Mariquita y Gualanday Loop
Diameter: 10 inches
Length: 150 km
5. Bi-directional Pipeline Barrancabermeja-Ballena
This bi-directional gas pipeline will connect to the Ballena-Cartagena pipeline.
Start-up: 2020
6. Bi-directional Pipeline Barranquilla-Ballena
This bi-directional gas pipeline will connect to the Ballena-Barrancabermeja pipeline.
Start-up: 2020
7. An additional compression station will also be constructed with a minimum power of 500 HP
Bogota-based TGI has volunteered to oversee the gas network projects.
