Project Profile

Estimated value: US$2 billion

Start-up year: 2019

The Angelin field is BP Trinidad and Tobago\'s next development project in the country. The project was moved up in the company\'s development plans as a result of data gathered from an ocean bottom cable seismic campaign, and its development would be tied back to the company\'s producing Serrette platform. The company expected to drill production wells at the field in 2016. Angelin was originally discovered by the El Diablo well in 1995 and appraised by La Novia in 2006. The project was accelerated due to enhanced imaging brought by its ocean bottom cable (OBC) seismic. Angelin lies in 65 m of water and is planned to be tied back to the Serrette platform. The project would involve the installation of a platform and the drilling of four development wells. The project also will require the installation of a 25-km, 26-in. subsea pipeline to an existing subsea at BPTT’s Serrette facility. First gas is projected for 2019.
