The project is located in the city of Cartagena, Colombia. The project calls for the construction of a regasification terminal in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia to supply local power plants. The project is comprised of two phases. The first phase (offshore) will include the construction of the maritime facilities, including a port, pier, connecting pipelines and a FRSU with 170,000m3 of storage and 400Mf3/d of regasification capacity, respectively. The second phase (onshore) includes the construction of regasification, storage and liquefaction facilities. Sociedad Portuaria El Cayao SPEC S.A. ESP (SPEC), a subsidiary of Promigas, was chosen to carry out the development of the regasification terminal that will allow the country to import liquefied natural gas via the Atlantic coast city of Cartagena. In December 2014, SPEC contracted the Spanish firm Sacyr to handle construction of the maritime terminal for LNG imports and chose one of Hoeghing\'s vessels at US$50mn per year. The construction of the terminal began in March 2016 and the project came online in December 2016. The facility has a total investment value of around US$ 140 million.
