Petrobras is the operator and detains 100% of exploratory block ES-T-495 located in Espírito Santo Basin, as awarded on the 11th Bidding Round. In September 2011, Brazilian regulator ANP concluded Petrobras had not met the minimum contractual percentage of local content for block ES-T-486, which resulted in a fine.
In April 2015, Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. made a discovery of an onshore oil accumulation in the block. The discovery was made by drilling wild cat well 1-BRSA-1302-ES (ANP nomenclature), informally known as Guayacan. This well comprises the Discovery Evaluation Plan (PAD) of Tabebuia and is located some 120 km from the city of Vitória. Reservoirs are located at 711 metres deep and well drilling reached 1,312 metres. Petrobras is the operator and detains 100% of exploratory block ES-T-495. The discovery will be evaluated by formation tests, as part of the Evaluation Plan’s exploratory program.
