The La Maye block is located in Colombia\'s Magdalena basin, covering an area of 14,800 net acres. The partners hope to begin testing the block\'s Noelia-1 well, whcih was drilled in 2009, to evaluate the ability of the hydrocarbon system to produce both gas and oil from multiple reservoirs. The La Maye block is adjacent to prolific oil and gas production in the Cicuco, Boquete and La Creciente Fields. The producing reservoirs in the La Maye block are porous and permeable shallow water sandstones and limestones easily drilled at depths between 762 m and 1067 m. The Cienaga de Oro formation is sandstone and the Cicuco formation is reefal limestone over and around granite basement highs.
