Estrela do Mar Field is a field located in the Santos basin, in the States of Paranã, Santa Catarina, in Brazil. The field covers an area of 32.7 km² at water depth around 145 metres. Panoro Energy acquired a 27.5% interest in the Estrela do Mar Field in 2001 and subsequently increased the interest to 57.5% in 2005 and to 65.0% in 2006. The partner in the Estrela do Mar Field is Petrobras, which holds a 35.0% interest and serves as operator of the asset.
In January 2011, an updated development plan for the field was submitted to ANP. In the plan, the development concept is based on a stand-alone development solution, but including a shared gas export solution with other fields in the area. The plan includes a test of the high potential, low permeability B1 reservoir. The partners are evaluating the possibility to integrate Estrela do Mar as a satellite connection to a common FPSO.
