Project Profile
Location: Llanos Orientales Basin, Colombia
Area: 188,855 hectares (1,889 sq km)
Start-up Year: -
Block CPO-13, covering an area of 188,855 hectares, was awarded to Tecpetrol (80%) and PetroNova (20%) during hydrocarbons regulator ANH\'s Ronda Colombia 2012 E&P Round.
PetroNova struck oil with the Pendra-1 well, while it abandoned the Arowana-1 exploratory well. The block is located in the heavy crude oil area of the Llanos Orientales Basin in Colombia. The multiple oil discoveries in the Quifa Block (Pacific Rubiales) suggests that the Rubiales and Quifa accumulations extend into CPO-13. Thus far in the Basin’s development, 1,500 Million barrels of recoverable oil has been officially documented. Two giant fields (Cano-Limon and the Castilla), three major fields (Rubiales, Apiay and the Tame Complex) and over 50 minor fields have been discovered.
