Blocks L1B and L16 are two onshore oil blocks located Lamu Basin, in South East Kenya. The Lamu Basin in Kenya has similar geological characteristics to the huge offshore finds made in Mozambique The Block L1B covers an area of 4,709 square miles (12,197 square kilometres), while Block L16 covers an area of 1,395 square miles (3,613 square kilometres). In May 2012, CAMAC Energy signed the PSC\'s for Blocks L1B and L16, L27 with the Ministry of Energy. The company is the named operator with 100% net interest, with the Kenyan government having the option to participate to 20% upon development.
