Menzel Ledjmet East (MLE) field is an oil and gas project located in Block 405b, around 1,000 km from Algiers in Algeria. The project will cost US$1.3 billion and will be run by a joint venture in which ENI will hold a 75% share and the remaining 25% will be owned by Sonatrach. Eni and the Algerian state company started gas production from the field on 31 January 2013. A plant, located in the field, allows for the treatment of rich gas for the daily production and sale of 9 million cubic metres of gas, 15,000 barrels of oil and condensate and 12,000 barrels of LPG.
