Exploration Start-up Year: - 2006
Production Start-up: October 2014
Block 131 has a total area of approximately 40 000 square km and is located west of Pan Andean\'s Block 114 in which exploration activities have been ongoing since 2006. The block has approximately 750 kilometres of 2D seismic, four wells, and three known oil seeps, which is considered to be highly prospective. The minimum work program for this block includes the reprocessing of 500 km of 2D seismic and the presentation of a geological and geophysical evaluation report in a period of 12 months. In 2012, an environmental impact study (EIS) to perform drilling activities was submitted, a campaign that includes the drilling of two exploratory and six confirmation wells. The EIS was approved in 2013. The Los Angeles 1XST was the first well drilled in the block and flow rates from the three test intervals were 135b/d, 936b/d and 2,351b/d, respectively, of 44° to 45° API light sweet oil. Production began in October 2014, and in March 2015 block 131 produced 84,344boe.
