Start-up Year: -
The East Brighton Block comprises approximately 9,460 Ha (21,471 acres) in the Gulf of Paria of Trinidad and Tobago, immediately off the western coast of Trinidad. Water depth in the Block ranges from 2m on the south to 50m on the north. Technical evaluation of the Block has identified some prospects and leads. The key elements of a hydrocarbon system (trap, seal, reservoir, and source) can be envisioned from existing exploration wells and seismic data over the Block as well as surrounding geology and hydrocarbon production.
All current exploration prospects and leads are comprised of Miocene or younger sandstone reservoir objectives. The East Brighton Block overlies the same Upper Cretaceous age oil and gas source rocks, which have charged oil reservoirs in nearby fields.
