Area: ~700 acres
Water depths: 2,000-8,000 feet (607-2,438 metres)
Reserves: 298 million barrels of DPIIP (discovered petroleum initially in place)
Production: 562 bopd (average oil production for 2015)
WD-4 is a Lease Operatorship Block that lies within the Petrotrin Grande Ravine producing field. The Grande Ravine region is approximately 18 km southwest of the City of San Fernando in the Forest Reserve area of Trinidad\'s Southern Basin. The Block is located south of the Los Bajos fault and east of the Skinner fault, two major tectonic features that are located on the north flank of the Erin syncline.
The producing reservoirs are structurally/stratigraphically trapped deltaic sands of the Miocene/Pliocene Forest and Cruse formations with formation dips averaging 10° - 20° to northwest. Producing depths range between 3,000’ – 7,500’. Prospects for increased production exist in recompletions of existing wells and the drilling of replacement/infill wells.
Initially developed in 1957, the WD-4 property has an internally estimated 298 million barrels of DPIIP and is producing from approximately 26 to 83 wellbores operated by Touchstone. Touchstone has drilled a total of four wells since acquiring the property in November 2012.
