The project will see the development of an oil and gas field located 2,140 metres of water - 273 km off the south coast of Rio de Janeiro. The exploration well flowed at a rate of approximately 2,900 barrels of 27 degrees API oil and 57,000 m3/day. Carioca and three adjacent blocks may have probable reserves of over 30 billion barrels. The associated gas may have around 15% CO2.

Subcontractors:
BrasFELS: completed integration works on the FPSO Cidade de Caraguatatuba MV27 for MODEC Offshore Production Systems. The FPSO has an oil processing capacity of up to 100,000 b/d, gas processing of up to 177 MMcf/d, and oil storage capacity of 1.6 MMbbl. (June, 2016)
