Triangle Energy signed the letter of intent with Morocco’s Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines (ONHYM) for the onshore Tselfat, Asilah, Souss and Abda blocks, as well as the offshore CI and CII blocks. The blocks are located in the western side of Morocco, in the Atlantic sea region. The blocks had already been determined to hold eleven exploration leads and prospects, with a potential prospective resource of more than 600 million barrels of oil in place and 140 billion cubic feet of gas in place. In addition, Tselfat Block also contained the Harich, Bourdraa and Tselfat fields which produced both oil and gas up until 1990. Other potential oil and gas targets had already been mapped near the Haricha field which it believes could be quickly drilled and exploited based on existing seismic data.
