The project will see the overhaul of the 110,000b/d Esmeraldas refinery, increasing its operational capacity to 100% for 10 years from the current 86%. The refinery output of derivatives is due to increase 20% for gasoline and 16% each for diesel, LPG, asphalt and jet fuel. The project includes the rehabilitation of the cracker units and workshops, as well as an overhaul of production units and auxiliary systems.
