Project Profile
Value: US$500 million
Location: Block BM-S-9, Santos Basin, Offshore Brazil
Production: 325,000 boepd (August, 2017)
Start-up Year: January 2013
Water Depth: 2,141 m / 7,065 ft
The Guara field is found 310km off the coast of the state of Sao Paulo, below 2,141 metres of water, with an API of 28 degrees. Light oil was found at a depth of 5000 metres. Guara has estimated recoverable volumes of 1.1 to 2.0 billion barrels of oil equivalent. The associated gas may have around 15% CO2. The FPSO on Guara is expected to come onstream in 2013 and will have a production capacity of around 120,000 b/d of oil and 177 MMcf/d. The FPSO will be leased. Plans are for the Guara South discovery to come onstream in 2013, with Guara North set for 2016. The plateau production at Guara is expected to be 250,000 boe/d in 2016. Petrobras plans to export natural gas output generated by the Guara and Iara pre-salt pilot production units through a 216 kilometre, 18 inch pipeline to the Mexilhao platform. The Guara concession will be completed 2039.
