Project Profile
Value: US$1,000 million
Location: Block BM-C-41, Campos Basin
Area: 236 km²
Start-up Year: 2015
The project will see the exploration of the BM-C-41- 236 km² block. Drilling of the OGX-2 well has encountered an oil column of approximately 250 metres with over 100 metres of net pay. The reservoirs are conglomerates, sandstones and carbonates, with up to 20% porosity. The tests have confirmed the presence of high quality carbonate reservoirs and preliminary analysis indicates lighter oil in the deeper reservoirs. For the potential structure composed by Waimea and Fuji, OGX estimates a recoverable amount from 600 million to 1.1 billion barrels of oil.
After 12 months of production suspension at the Tubarão Azul field, the operator prepares for relinquishment and consequent abandonment. (September, 2016)
