Installation of 76km of rigid 18-inch pipes linking the Guara and Lula North-East (formerly known as Tupi North-East) discoveries to the giant Tupi find. The project consists of a 54km stretch between Guara, in Block BM-S-9 and Tupi and a 22km extension linking Tupi to Tupi North-East, both in Block BM-S-11. The export lines will be capable of transporting 10 million cubic metres per day of gas, the combined capacity of the two floating production, storage and offloading vessels that will be installed at Guara and Tupi North-East.

Cougar Automation: Development and commissioning of an innovative control system for Balltec to use on the first Buoy Supported Riser (BSR) system installed on Brazil’s Guara-Lula Project. Cougar Automation was commissioned by Balltec to design a dedicated control and automation system consisting of a surface-mounted primary control that would control the movement of the buoy support system via tether adjustment, using a linear chain tensioner. This was required in order to manage the tension in the risers.
