Project Profile

Location: 124 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Potential Production: 150,000 bbls/d oil per day and 2 million cubic meters of gas per day.
Depth: 4,442 meters
The Marlim Complex, compromising the Marlim, Marlim Leste (East) and Marlim South (Sul) fields, is the largest deepwater producer of oil and gas in the world.

Discovered in February 1985, began producing in 1991 and currently has 12 deepwater floating production facilities spread over its reservoir, with the P-53 on Marlim Leste being one of the last to come onstream in late 2008.
In May 2016 Petrobras signed with the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) the extension of the concession contracts for the Marlim and Voador fields, until 2052. In March 2016, the Marlim and Voador fields (the Marlim complex) produced 150,000 barrels of oil and 2 million cubic meters of gas per day.
On the 3rd of January 2013 Petrobras announces the discovery of a new oil accumulation in a post-salt reservoir, in ultra-deep waters of Campos Basin. The discovery was made by well 4-MLS-105D-RJS, known as Mandarim, which is located in Marlim Sul field,126 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro state, at a water depth of 1,874 meters.
The reservoir is located in Eocene-age arenaceous reservoirs at a depth of approximately 2,965 meters. Preliminary estimates indicate an oil column of 100 meters, with oil quality similar to the oil produced in Marlim field (13 to 16 degree API). Reservoir testing expected to be completed late 2013.
On the 24th of February 2011 Petrobras started Extended Well Test (EWT) for the Tracajá reservoir, located 124 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, in the pre-salt area of Marlim Leste field (Marlim Complex), in Campos Basin.

The EWT were being executed in the 6-MLL-70 well, where the oil was found in September of 2010 at a depth of 4,442m and which was interconnected to the P-53 FPSO, using the available production and offloading infra-structure. The test began with a flow rate of 23,300 barrels per day.
