Project Profile

Value: US$300 million
Location: Fell Block, Chile
Area: 1,780 sq km
Production: 3523 boepd throughout the 4th Quarter 2016

GeoPark drilled and completed the Alakaluf-5 well to a total depth of 2,261 metres. A production test in the Springhill formation, at approx. 2,187 metres in a 13 metre perforated interval, flowed at a rate of approx. 650 barrels per day (bpd) of oil with no water through a choke of 14 millimetres and with a well head pressure of 250 pounds per square inch. These are preliminary results and further production history will be required to determine stabilised flow rates and the extent of the reservoir. The Alakaluf-5 was an appraisal well drilled in a P2 reserve area (down-dip from the existing producing Alakaluf wells) and is expected to increase P1 reserves. The drilling rig is now being moved to spud well Alakaluf-6.

The Konawentru field lies in Chile’s Magallanes basin and was discovered in 2011 with the Konawentru-1 which is currently producing at a rate of about 1,120 bpd. GeoPark will look to spud the next well on the field, Konawentru-3, which will be followed by a further two-to-three wells in 2013.
