Project Profile
Value: US$350 million
Location: 400 km south of the city of Santa Cruz in the Andean
Start-up year: February 2011 (Phase 1), December 2013 (Phase 2)
Production capacity: 5 million cubic meters of gas per day (35,000 boed)
Onshore gas field located in the foothills of the Andes mountain range, containing large reserves of gas condensate in fractured sandstones reservoirs of the Devonian period. The development project includes the drilling of three wells and the construction of a gas processing unit that will allow production to reach 5 million cubic metres per day.
The first phase of the development came on stream on February 2nd 2011 and is designed to produce 1.5 million cubic metres of gas per day (10,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), which will be processed in the facilities of the neighboring San Alberto field.
Itaú gas production will mainly be exported. The Block XX joint venture has also submitted for approval to YPFB a development plan which aims at increasing Itaú’s production from 1.5 to 5 million cubic metres per day by mid-2013 (about 35,000 boed).
