The ATP 924P oil and gas exploration permit is locate in the south west Queensland section of the Cooper Basin and it contains the Maroochydore‐1 exploration, which is approximately 250 kilometres north‐east of Moomba. The drilling of the well will target Jurassic oil in the Hutton Sandstone. The well is situated between the long‐producing In-land and Cook oil fields, with oil production from the Hutton Sandstone reservoir in the Cook Field now close to four million barrels. Maroochydore‐1 targets were identified on the Hurron 3D seismic survey, acquired in 2014. Beach Energy is the operator of the project with a 45% interest and Drillsearch Energy has the remaining 55% interest in the project.
